Ecommerce websites and SEO

Just recently, I had this group of people from an ecommerce website approach me with site optimization problems. It was just the typical SEO problem. They already had a SEO consultant optimize their site, but they still weren’t acquiring any Keyword rankings what so ever. Did the SEO consultant ruin something? Or was it just bad luck? Whatever the problem was site members were in deep quandary and they needed my help real quick. So I decided to jump in and to my surprise the site was actually optimized.  The site was certainly crawlable and seemed search engine friendly. In addition, the site enclosed an excellent amount of unique content on product and category pages. Even ‘URL structures’ were neat and seemed static. ‘Website navigation’ was slightly iffy although the ‘H1 tags’ looked in order along with the ‘Title tags’ which were suitably written. Besides, the website was indexed accurately on all the search engines, now why isn’t the site still not ranking? Perplexing?

Well, were the SEO consultant went wrong is with Internal Linking. While the consultant was able to make the site search engine friendly, but he really didn’t have the proficiency to bestow a boost in the keyword rankings. Well, here is what you can do if your site is suffering from a similar issue.

Structuring textual content is imperative, but by itself, it isn’t going to present you the enhancement in keyword ranking you want. It’s quite crucial to organize all your content into content silos, as it’s an influential SEO technique. Besides, when you do combine proper internal linking to it, then there is simply no reason why your site shouldn’t rank well on your set primary keywords.

Both internal and external links hold immense importance. While internal links should employ keyword-rich anchor text, which aim to your internal pages, external links are basically one-way inbound links from other web properties that can be used to discover your WebPages.
